Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Bronx with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in New York may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 10:30 amβ7:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (718) 733-2800. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, 183fishmarket.com.
Customers rate it 4.4 out of 5 on Google across 144 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded seafood markets in Bronx.
Bronx is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Bronx peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The variety isn't the best but I do understand they have to cater to the community. The majority of the staff is pleasant and so is the owner. There is a sense of community here because they know their regular customers. There is steaming and fried seafood available however, the fish soup is amazing.
